A custom syringe-drive extruder for 3D printing food.
Based on a clay extruder designed by Constantijn Crijnen, this extruder was designed to print a variety of high and low viscosity materials including peanut butter, jelly, frosting, and more.
Designed in SolidWorks and a custom profile created in PrusaSlicer for printing. Technical challenges included calculating flow rate, offset for the printing platform, and compensating for inconsistent viscosity in the materials.
